Ho Chi Minh City cruise operators sail to new dock in worries

http://southpacifictravel.com.vn/vietnam-travel-news/ho-chi-minh-city-cruise-operators-sail-to-new-dock-in-worries/
After a two-and-half-month delay, the operators of tourist cruises and hydrofoils in Ho Chi Minh City announced that they are finally moving from a downtown wharf to a nearby dock on Tuesday. Vietnam travel.

The operators are worried that the forced relocation, to facilitate the renovation of the old wharf, will affect their business. The new station is located at the Saigon Port in District 4, just more than one kilometer away from Bach Dang Wharf in District 1, news website Thoi Bao Kinh Te Saigon Online reported on Monday.

The city’s authorities initially ordered the operators to move out of the main tourist wharf by January 1 so they could close it for an upgrade. But the deadline was later pushed to January 15 and then to the end of March, after the businesses complained that they had trouble in finding alternative docks.

The boat operators were quoted as saying in the news website that even though they have found the new home, they are worried that the adjustment will affect their business, because the dock’s location is not convenient.

Before the closure, Bach Dang was possibly the only place in the city where cruisers provided city river tours and river dining services. It was home to around 40 boats which served thousands of tourists a day. Some service providers said they had operated at the wharf for more than 20 years.

Cable car at Son Doong Cave: Controversial cable car project at world’s largest cave

Tourism authorities in the central province of Quang Binh have again defended a controversial plan to build a US$212-million cable car at Son Doong Cave, saying the media has misunderstood it.
A province tourism official told a meeting last week that the nearly 11-kilometer cable car system to be built by Da Nang-based real estate and resort developer Sun Group would be above the trees in the Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park and end 300-600 meters from the cave and not right at the entrance as the media reported.
The telpher would allow tourists to admire the landscapes from above, he added. A plan first unveiled by Quang Binh authorities in last October envisaged the cable system ending inside Son Doong. But a few weeks later authorities changed their description, saying it would link the cave with another cave called Tien Son.

But critics were not mollified and said it would still harm the environment. Sun Group has not made any comment. Quang Binh vice chairman Tran Tien Dung said at the meeting, held to promote the province’s tourism in Ho Chi Minh City, that the investor has done little except sending some foreign experts to do the environmental impact assessment for the project.
Sun Group is supposed to do many things to get approvals from government agencies and international organizations like UNESCO in order to undertake such a large project in a national park, he said. The plan’s supporters have said the cable car would encourage more tourists to explore the cave. Amid the controversy, theVietnam tourism ministry last November called on provincial authorities and the investor to do further research before embarking on the project.

Son Doong is now a big attraction with global media agencies and film studios taking interest in it, Dung said at the meeting, adding that though a tour there lasting just a few days costs up to US$3,000, it is fully booked until year end.
Nearly 2.75 million tourists visited the province last year, double the number from the year before. Low-cost carrier VietJet Air plans to launch daily flights between Ho Chi Minh City and the Quang Binh’s capital Dong Hoi starting April 29, Thoi Bao Kinh Te Saigon Online reported, adding that the carrier is also planning to fly to the town from Hanoi. State-owned Vietnam Airlines and another no-frills carrier, Jetstar Pacific are increasing their flights between HCMC and Dong Hoi, it said.
There is also a growing interest in Quang Binh among Hollywood filmmakers, according to the province’s tourism authorities and tour operator. Nguyen A, chairman of Oxalis, the sole tour operator for Son Doong, said part of a new King Kong movie will be shot in Minh Hoa District and Tan Hoa Commune this year end. Vietnam Travel
Located in the UNESCO-recognized Phong Nha – Ke Bang, Son Doong was opened to tourists in 2013, four years after members of the British Cave Research Association finished their exploration and named it the world’s largest cave. The five kilometer-long cave, which is 150 meters high and 200 meters wide, has at least 150 individual caves, a dense subterranean jungle and several underground rivers.

Hanoi Cuisine

Hanoi, the millennial city that converges the quintessence of the whole country, has been famous for unique customs, lifestyles and subtle and sophisticated cuisine. Over time, the dishes of the capital city have confirmed their position in the national culinary culture.
One of the highlights of Hanoi’s cuisine is street peddlers, which appear to meet the demand of the people in the crowded croft streets. Snacks are found anytime in Hanoi. They may be cheap or expensive, meeting the demand of different groups of diners.
Hanoi’s street food has become famous not only in Vietnam but also in the world.
Hanoi’s street food has become famous not only in Vietnam but also in the world.
Hanoi has rich food traditions and many of Vietnam’s most famous dishes, such as phở, chả cá, bánh cuốn and cốm are thought to come from Hanoi. Perhaps most widely known is Phở, a simple rice noodle soup often eaten as a breakfast dish in the home or at streetside cafes, but also served in restaurants as a meal. Two varieties dominate the Hanoi scene: Phở Bò, containing beef, and Phở Gà, containing chicken.
Hanoi has been selected as one of the top 10 cities for food in the world by Shermans Travel. Vietnam’s national dish Phở has been also named as one of the Top5 streetfood in the world by globalpost.
Hanoi has a restaurant about the insect food, in Khuong Thuong village, Hanoi. The most special cuisines at his restaurant are those processed from ant-eggs, in the styles of Thai people or Muong and Tay ethnic people in Vietnam.

Hue is the country’s intellectual center

Hue, the capital of Thua Thien Province, is located in the geo-graphic center of Vietnam. Because the mountains are dramatically close to the sea near Hue, the area has the high test rainfall of all the cities in Vietnam: 277 cm a year.
The climate is cool and foggy, similar to that of San Francisco. Moisture damage is evident on the old French and ancient imperial buildings. Erosion, moss stains, and rust give the historic Citadel and the Imperial Palace an otherworldly, timeless appearance.
Citadel-Hue-Vietnam

With 12 schools of higher learning, Hue is the country’s intellectual center. Citizens from other parts of the country sometimes think of people from Hue as intellectually aloof. The essence of Hue’s pure aloofness is summarized in the well-known poem:
Near the mud, the beautiful lotus
Green leaves, white petals, golden center:
Golden, white and green.
Close to the mud but not stinking of the filth.

Nha Trang the famous resort city

Nha Trang, the capital of Khanh Hoa Province, is located on the coast of South China Sea, 50 kilometres north of Cam ranh Bay. Dai Lanh beach called Cape Varcella during the French occupation, lies 83 kilometers north of Nhatrang and is the eastern-most point of Vietnam’s mainland.
Nha Trang the famous resort city
Nha Trang the famous resort city
Nhatrang, in addition to its allure as a site of the ancient Cham culture, has one of the most beautiful beaches in the country. Set against a backdrop of mountains, Nhatrang is located on a five-kilo meter long crescent-shaped beach of fine, smooth white sand. The beach is sheltered from winds by hills and the temperature never re aches Intolerable levels. The port of Cau Da is on the southern tip of the city; the northern border is marked by the River Cal.
The romantic ambience of this area is enhanced by the delicate perfume of cinnamon that drifts down from Mt. Thien Thai and the incense trees of Van Gia forest. Ornamental plants and coconut trees add to the charm of local houses and French-style beach villas. At night, soft lights of fishing boats bob up and down to the rhythm of the gentle tides.
